I've tried this a couple times, and each time it ends with Quicken freezing on a white screen that has a legend at the bottom saying, basically, if you need help, please call us Monday-Friday at our 650- area code number. I followed the established procedure for reinstalling Quicken (which consists of: Using QcleanUI to remove old versions of Quicken, deleting various Quicken files from ProgramData and Programs86, running CCI cleaner to clean out the Quicken registry entries, using Programs and Features to delete the iSeek Answerworks app, rebooting, installing Quicken 2017, copying over the old ProgramData quicken files from the working installation, running the Mondopatch update, and then booting Quicken. I have a laptop that I have used Quicken on while extended travel. Annoying, right? I thought I would try to reload Quicken on my machine to resolve this problem, but before doing so, it seemed wise to see if there would be any glitches loading Quicken on another computer. You have to exit out of the popup three times to make it go away, and you see it each time you load the program.
This caused the program to start opening a dialog box for me to enter my Quicken ID, but the dialog box has no content. Recently I made the mistake of clicking on the "One Step Update" button, which of course is no longer functional. It has been a little bit of a nuisance (downloading credit card statements into Excel format and uploading to Quicken) but I did not mind.
